  Purpose

The Westside Church of Christ Community Garden is a new project begun in the Spring of 2012, to provide fresh produce to recipients of our pantry foods.

  The Land

We owe a debt of gratitude to Linda Bissett, for allowing us to use her backyard for the community garden. Without this perfectly flat, sunny spot, there would be no garden.

  The Raised Beds

A big THANK YOU goes to Ben Brower and his Boy Scout Troop for acquiring all the supplies, building the raised beds, and filling them with soil. This was Ben's Eagle Scout Project and he did a magnificent job.

  The Plants and the Produce

Thanks also to everyone who came out and planted vegetables and herbs in the raised beds. The plan is for church members to tend the garden and harvest the produce. The veggies will then be donated to our church's food pantry, so that recipients will not only receive shelf-stable foods, but fresh produce as well.
